Hometown Heroes: The Perry Family
This fantastic family installed ten 4’x10’ raised garden beds in their yard and now they grow most of their own vegetables and lots of seasonal fruit. What they don't grow at home, they buy local and organic. They've been asked many times, "How do you get your kids to eat so many vegetables?" Their answer, "It's easy— WE grow them!" Nice growing, Heroes, nice growing.
Are you a Hometown Hero? How do you go green? If you or someone you know has a story to tell or tip to share, please email Challenge@coolcalifornia.org. We’ll highlight a Hometown Hero in each newsletter. |
