Extra, Extra, Read All About It! July 31st was is the last day of the preliminary round of the CoolCalifornia Challenge! Thus far, the entire Challenge has over 1,000 households who have earned +930,000 points! Want more points? Points are prorated, so enter your July energy bill today! Next month, we will announce which city will join the finalist ranks to compete for the title of Coolest California City and the Grand Prize! Resident Spotlight In 2005, Councilmember Steve Abercrombie installed 36 panels on his home. These panels supply all of his home’s energy, plus produces excess energy that goes back to the grid. His family’s annual energy bill used to be about $2,000; now, it’s no more than $250 a year! With discounts and rebates, the Abercrombies were able to break even in just 7½ years. Their pool is also solar-ready, but so far, they have been able to rely only on the sun for heat. As a result of these fantastic energy-efficient efforts, Steve has already racked up over 5,000 points and counting! Do you have a great green story to share? Email me! |

If you log in and go to the Reporting Details tab, you can scroll down and remove old reports and then everything should work perfectly. Don't miss out on your points! |

And when team and group features come out, no one will be able to find your profile and pick you for their team :( .
