July is All About Food, Dude
Cool Californians love fresh, local produce, and there is so much in season this month! In addition to uploading your energy bills and vehicle miles traveled, step up the fight against climate change by cutting down your greenhouse gas emissions associated with food. It’s healthy, fun, family-friendly, and great for your local economy!
We love our Challenge participants! Over 1,100 households have signed up across participating cities, so keep up the good work! Remember, your city earns 100 points for every person who signs up. |

Move More, Moo Less
Did you know that producing one hamburger patty for your lunch releases the same amount of greenhouse gas into the atmosphere as driving a car nearly 10 miles? Cut down doubly on your emissions – pledge to ride your bike more often and eat less red meat! It’s easy to set up one meat-free day per week for your family. Take the pledge and browse recipes at MeatlessMonday.com. |

Get Out and Get Down to Your Local Farmers Market
Support local farmers by buying guaranteed fresh produce at your local farmers market. The fruit is so tasty this time of year! Who could forget the Fourth of July corn on the cob? Cut down your carbon footprint by reducing the number of miles your food has to travel to get to your plate. So get outdoors, bring your family and meet the people who produce the food you eat.
