Who we are

The CoolCalifornia Challenge is a partnership between Sacramento residents, the City of Sacramento, 350 Sacramento, Greenwise Joint Venture, and other community-based organizations in our city.

Join us on our mission to make Sacramento the "Coolest California City".

100 and Counting!

Over 100 Sacramento households signed up for the Challenge as of last week!  We’re on our way to our goal of signing up 1,000 households.  Check out the Challenge Scoreboard for real-time updates on who’s in the lead.

We’re still in 3rd place in the points ranking, so if you’ve already signed up, remember to keep logging your energy usage when you get new utility bills to earn more points.  And, you can now log your vehicle mileage for a chance to earn more points… similar to energy, the less you drive compared to average households, the more points you win!

May is bike month May is Bike Month

Now in its 8
th year, the Sacramento region once again celebrates “May Is Bike Month”. Log on to www.mayisbikemonth.com to make cycling pledges for a chance to win prizes, and join the 350 Sacramento team.  Fun events and activities all month long too.  More biking means less driving, which will help you earn more points in the Challenge!

May Is National Bike Month too

Reducing driving is the single greenest action Californians can take! For the typical California household, biking ten miles per day instead of driving is equivalent to getting nearly half of the household's electricity from solar panels.
