Summer begins this week, so start off on the right foot--save money by saving energy! Get recognition for your progress by uploading your energy bills to earn points this month. Remember, the city earning the most points for June will be named a Cool California City and win $10,000! |

Triple Tips to Cool Down This Summer
- Use ceiling or room fans to cool off!
- If you have a gas furnace, turn off the pilot light!
- If you have a thermostat, set it to 78 degrees (or higher) when you are home and 85 degrees (or off) when you are out!

Don’t let vampire appliances suck energy!
TVs, microwaves, and computers consume electricity even when they are switched off. Solution? Plug your appliances into a power strip and unplug ‘em all by flipping one switch! Power strips can help reduce your electric bill and earn points for the challenge. More info |
